Lidewei de Sterck, oboe


Lidewei De Sterck was born in Belgium in 1978. She started to play baroque oboe as a student of Griet Cornelis at the Lemmens-institute in Leuven (Belgium) and completed her studies with Ku Ebbing and Frank de Bruine at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (The Netherlands)

 

She is now often asked for recordings and concerts and in and outside Europe. She is a regular player in ensembles such as: Concerto Köln, New Dutch Academy, Arte Dei Suonatori and is also asked for concerts with Kammerorchester Basel, Al Ayre Espanol, B’rock, Les Agrémens, Divino Sospiro, Musica Amphion and many others. She is also a member of the Belgian Oboeband ‘Lingua Franca’.

 

Some of the highlights of her career were tours with the famous mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli and with some excellent choirs such as Collegium Vocale Gent and Rias Kammerchor Berlin.
